This Is Not A Contest (yet)

Welcome all to the SCP Commune's first-ever contest!

Write a fun blurb to put here

To qualify, your entry must contain at least one of the prompts listed on this page. You can modify it to your needs, as long as it's recognizable. Any kind of original work is permitted — SCPs, tales, GOI formats, or anything else you can think of. All contest entries should be tagged as #contestnamegoeshere2021 in addition to any other applicable tags.

To sign up, add a prompt of your own to this page. Your prompt can be any text, media, or other material that can be included on a page. Media has to be permissible under a CC BY SA 3.0 license; ask for help if you're not sure about it. Everything should be cited, including anything you made yourself.

The winner, as determined by the page's rating at the end of the voting period, will receive bragging rights and eternal glory. If multiple pages are tied for the most votes, all of them win.

FAQ

Q: Can I submit multiple entries?
A: Yes, but there's no inherent advantage to doing so. They'll all be judged individually.

Q: Can my entry take up multiple pages?
A: Yes, but only its highest-rated page will be counted when crowning the winner. You don't have to include a prompt on every page, unless you want to.

Q: Can we collaborate?
A: Yes!

Q: Can my entry use multiple prompts?
A: Yes!

Q: Can I use a prompt that I provided?
A: Yes, but you'll also have to use at least one prompt that someone else made. You can't just use your own.

Q: What if someone wants to use the same prompt as me?
A: Any number of contestants can use the same prompt. If you still want to avoid overlapping with someone, you should work something out with them.

Q: Can I just use the prompt as my title and not include it in the article?
A: Yes, as long as it's a fitting title. Try to make the connection clear, at the very least.

Q: Can I pester people to read / vote on my piece?
A: Please don't. You can self-promote, but don't spam it or send unsolicited messages. This contest isn't worth tarnishing your reputation over, so play fair!

Q: What can I add as a prompt?
A: Your prompt can be anything that someone could plausibly (and legally) include in an article. If you want someone to actually use your prompt, you should choose something that someone could look at and say "oh, that gives me an idea!".
